The mission of Nebulous Cacophony is to eventually create and freely distribute an open source 3d game engine with the capabilities of most modern game engines (circa 2002), while also providing intuitive game development tools. On the side, Nebulous Cacophony will produce myriads of media including graphics, sounds, and many simple test flash applications.

Nebulous Cacophony is a six-year-old project (surprisingly) starting from a simple yet lofty ambition. To this day over three hundred flash applications, five hundred songs, and hundreds of C++ apps have been created, many of which died due to lack of mathematical skill and interest (Hence the lack of content). Now at the dawn of 2004 we take back what we have lost in an effort to create what Nebulous Cacophony was meant to be.

In the beginning Nebulous Cacophony was started by an energetic high school freshman, and was mainly used to move files to and from school. The very first page design used JavaScript to animate simple buttons, and had a lot of thought poured into it. But that wasn't enough for this child, he wanted more. And so...

By the end of 1998 the second site design was complete, revamped with nifty JavaScript action and a new set of graphics. The site now featured a cleaner tab driven format instead of the original bubble concept. Also the number of topics decreased, which will become a trend as free time began to disappear.

Ironically, 2000 was the biggest year for Nebulous Cacophony, which underwent three unique revisions. However, it was at this time Izcalli64 discovered the crazy mixed up world of Flash. Furiously working to create efficient button bars and decent looking vector animations, Izcalli64 toiled with this in whatever free time he could find, for this skill would eventually lead to games, a lifelong dream for any child raised near a Nintendo. And so the very first flash game by Izcalli64 was created. It was also during this year that the Omega Factor robotics team formed, of which Izcalli64 was a member.

2001 was a year full of mistakes and promises broken, as the crushing blow of reality took its toll on Izcalli64. However, the website may have remained static but the skill of the programmer increased, directly related to the knowledge of vector math and calculus. This was also the dawn for almost all of the game concepts present on Nebulous Cacophony, especially Ed Smiley.

2002 : Enter the College. Once introduced to the incredible amount of career paths and employment opportunities, spirits soared and Nebulous Cacophony underwent its largest and most complete revision ever, revision 7. This time, a flashier, much better programmed and even cleaner site emerged, with the same empty promises of content only to be shot down by reality. Not much of a shame at all, really.

2003 - The dawn of OpenGL. This is the year when OpenGL came into focus, the final key factor to making a dream into reality. Izcalli64 leaned OpenGL independently, and now fortified with a data structures class is ready to take on the task of building a game engine! But as you might have guessed, the road was full of rocks the size of vector calculus.

2004 - What next? With a clear goal set in mind and a determined final revision to Nebulous Cacophony, this year promises to be one of the most interesting Izcalli64 has ever experienced. You play a part in determining this path, as support will most likely be met with response. Only time can tell, though, so just gocaco!

2005 - Turns out that Electrical Engineering demands more time than I anticipated, thus the site remained in limbo. Our progress has not been daunted, and with the new technology brought into light in Revision 9.0, you will be able to see more of what we do. Enjoy!

Nebulous Cacophony is actually a single collegiate person, Izcalli64. To put it offensively, instead of wasting time playing games I just try to make games (although my success is questionable).

Thanks to the good people at www.internetwizardry.com we exist. Now, even if this site is a pile of junk they have nothing to do with the site, except provide an AD FREE server space with excellent tech support and mail service (for a reasonable price). I owe them everything.

If you want more details, contact Izcalli64 first

I'll get this up and running at some point. Give it 2 or three months

No way. It'll never happen.
